The Tall And The Short Of It
It never fails as I enter an elevator or stand in line, "Do you play basketball?" As if I had never thought I would hear someone ask me that. But, as any curtious person would, I politely reply, "Never actually, do you play miniature golf?" Why doesn't anyone ever say to me, "You should be a videographer! You'd naturally have a better point of view." Then, I could reply, "As a matter-of-fact, I AM a videographer! Thank you for asking!"
My journey into videography began when I was a teen, led me to pursue a degree in film, and now ownership of Taflan Pictures. In 2005 I was blessed to meet a beautiful girl, inside and out, who became my wife in December of 2008. She has lovingly put up with my many trips to the camera store, hours editing in front of a computer screen, and has taken an interest herself in my passion for videography. It's like the Bible says… the two shall become one :) My eye for creativity and her love of detail make the Taflans a one of a kind team. We're blessed and happy to be doing what we do and take great pride in our work. Videography is not just a career choice, it is a passion - a gift.
When we're not working in our home office, Olyvia can be found teaching students at a local elementary school and I, well… I'm still in the office - it's what I do. Together we love spending time with family, our church, enjoying God's creation (camping anyone?), laughing as we watch America's Funniest Home Videos, eating home cooked meals, frequenting garage sales, playing with our Quaker parrot Sunny, and getting lost in conversation at the bookstore or coffee shop. Follow our life's adventures on the blog, contact us, or if you're passing through NC - give a shout. We hope to hear from you and get a chance to share our enthusiasm for capturing life's special moments!
